August Wrap Up

So I feel like I’ve read plenty this month, but I’ve really not reviewed much. I’ve been busy and also just lazy – I really need to stick to some kind of blogging schedule!

What I Read

Indigo Donut by Patrice Lawrence

Charlotte Says by Alex Bell

The Mystery of the Painted Dragon by Katherine Woodfine

Moonrise by Sarah Crossan

The Death House by Sarah Pinborough

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

Hortense and the Shadow by Natalia O’Hara

Book Post

My one bit of book post came from the lovely Nathan, who bought me Unconventional by Maggie Harcourt, which I’m reading right now. I’ve also had a couple of fab books from NetGalley:

Hortense and the Shadow by Natalia O’Hara

(Thanks Puffin!)

No Shame by Anne Cassidy

(Thanks Hot Key Books!)

What I Wrote:

This month I sat with Nathan and replotted by entire novel. It helped iron out all my terrible plot holes and made it really structurally sound. The downside is that I’ll have to basically rewrite the whole thing, but I’m feeling up to the challenge!

What I watched:

TV

We finished re-watching The Office (amazing!) and started watching The Whispers, which we recorded on Sky a while ago. Unfortunately, it felt pretty basic and not what we were looking for, so we stopped half way through the series. We started Iron Fist instead, which isn’t doing much for me either, but I’m persevering so we can watch The Defenders.

Films

I didn’t watch anything new this month, but I did watch Green Inferno with all three of my sisters. It was just as beautifully tense and gory as the first time round, and my sisters loved it too.

What I Did

As hinted at last month, I took my driving test and…I passed! First time, six minors, and now I#m allowed on the roads. It was really scary but I’m glad I got it out the way. The downside is that I now have to drive myself everywhere 🙁 I’ve bought a car and am trying to be brave about it but driving still scares me a bit.

What Little Moore Did

Little Moore is now a definite walker. He’s into everything and I can’t imagine him not being able to do it now. He’s started walking around with his hands on his hips, which is super cute!
